Pride Hath A Fall

Once upon a time, there lived a stag in a certain jungle. He had a smart body and seemly twisted horns of beautiful offshoots. Like other stages, too was slightly vain, proud, and foolish.

Allah says in Quran:

Do not walk with pride on the earth.

One day, he felt awfully thirsty. He went to a nearby pond to quench his thirst. He cast his glance upon the water. The water in the pond shone crystal clear like a mirror. He felt proud by seeing his captivated horns. At the same time, he saw his lean and lank legs and become disappointed and disgusted. He said: it is so sorrowful to have so captivating antlers with loathsome and ugly legs.

He became ungrateful to Allah Almighty.

Allah says in Quran:

Be thankful to me. Do not be ungrateful to ME.

When he was caught in the whirl of two opposite forces, he heard the growl of hounds at the same distance. He became frightened. The instinct to save himself urged him and he took to his feet. As long as the ground was open he ran as fast as he could. His legs took him away from the hounds of which he was disgusted. when he was quite away from the hounds, he had to cross an overgrown patch of forest. He had to cross the bushes.

Allah says in Quran:

And garden dense with lofty trees.

His horns of which he was so proud, get entangled in them. He tried a lot to save himself but to no avail. The hounds overtook him. Just as that critical juncture of life and death, he realized his folly.

He said:

Woe is to me. How wrong am I in taking things by their surface values?

The hounds tore him into big and small fragments. The decision of his eye causes his death.

Allah says in Quran:

If you will be thankful to me, I shall give you more. If you become ungrateful then my punishment is very severe.
